The tiny house movement article from Daily Dream Decor

For those that know me or have read my blog entries so far, you already know how much I enjoy reading, writing and experimenting with small spaces. Though I do admit that it’s in our nature to require more space to feel more comfortable, living in a tiny space has its undeniable advantages:

Cleaning time gets shortened

You have everything at arm’s reach

Flexibility (most tiny houses are built on trailer beds and thus can be transported with a car and you can move around quite easily if you have a “do-it-from-home” job or simply want to travel for your holidays and don’t want to spend money on hotels)

Tiny places tend to be more cozy

Most importantly, it’s cheaper (forget mortgages and working endlessly to have a roof over your head)

“Tiny Houses” is a huge emerging trend – and for good reason! Many Americans are frustrated with not being able to achieve the American Dream they were sold – most are in fact living the American Nightmare!

We want to change that.

We want Americans to be able to achieve and live the dream of freedom they believed in.

That’s why we are creating the “New American Dream Project” – an initiative to provide real freedom to Americans through Tiny House on Wheels Communities and Tiny House Living.  Because you deserve to be free and we want to help you live that dream, reduce your monthly housing expenses, increase your disposable income, travel and be more mobile and live the dream that you deserve.

Wherever you are along that path, whatever stage of the process you’re at, we want to help empower you to take the next step, learn more and continue moving forward to freedom.  We hope you enjoy the free resources we’ve put together for you and hope to see you at one of our upcoming GoTinyBeFree Tiny House on Wheels Building Workshops (click here for free access to the online community and resources and for upcoming workshop details)

Growing Business in Tiny Houses, Business alabama article

A handful of successful businesses across the state have sprouted to serve the fast-growing market for small, affordable houses.

TEXT BY CARA CLARK

Channel surfers the world over are learning it’s difficult to scroll through television network offerings without landing on channels about flipping properties, renovation or DIY tips. And FYI network has capitalized on that trend with a production known as Tiny House Nation, a show devoted to shrinking the box in a way that goes beyond the garden home concept — scaling back big time, as it were. The market for diminutive houses is fast becoming behemoth, and Alabama builders and innovators are embracing the trend.

Check out this adorable tiny home from Timbercraft Tiny Homes!

This home on wheels is just 150 square feet.  It’s got high ceilings, plenty of storage, and a cute front porch.  I particularly love the shelving in the bathroom and all the light that gets into this space.

The company that makes this home is based out of Guntersville, Alabama (near Huntsville).

Price of the home varies depending on any particular custom touches, but the company’s website lists their homes as ranging from $35,000 to $55,000+.
